Over the past few years, Jim and I have been getting the feeling every now and again that perhaps a change is in store for us. The problem is, whenever we would think about it, neither of us could imagine leaving our current lives and pursuing something else. But Jim's job has become increasingly demanding and difficult, especially since the Beckham building was finished 5 years ago. It just seems like every year, there are more and more events scheduled here at camp, but no one else has been hired to help take some of the extra work. And Jim has done a really good job at it, but it is literally running him into the ground. There are a few other reasons as well, like the fact that we have outgrown our housing and there are no other options for us right now to move into a bigger unit.
So, after much thought and prayer, Jim has decided to go back to school and pursue a medical degree. We don't have plans to leave Aspen Grove for atleast 12-18 months while he finishes up some pre-requisite classes. Then he will apply to P.A. school tobecoem a Physician's Assistant. He would really like to work in a trauma unit, such as the E.R. We both feel good about pursuing this, although I know it will be tough.
Dr. Dodds. I like the sound of that!

Wow, big changes and challenges are coming your way for sure! That is definitely exciting. I hope everything goes well - good luck to Jim with all he'll be taking on! Our prayers are with you.
I'm in PA school at George Washington, and commute in every day from WV. It's rough, I won't lie. And it's the hardest thing I've done in my life. But it'll be well worth it. I hate to burst your bubble though, we don't get to be called Dr. That's for the MDs, not the PAs.:(
I can't tell you how happy and supportive we are with your decision - I take that back - I can and I will tell you...We are extremely happy and supportive with your decision. Jim will be a great PA!
Exciting stuff Kimmie! Good luck with everything! Mark worked full time and was in the Bishopric while he pursued his Masters Degree. It was a long road but Heavenly Father lifted us when we needed it and He will do the same for you! Miss you!
WOW! What an awesome idea! Med school is the LIFE! :) Actually, I'm really excited for you because it will just open up so many opportunities! Jim will be AWESOME!
