So. I decided that I should try doing something besides just sewing all day while the girls are at school. Don't get me wrong- I could easily do that, and love it... but, ever since I started running I have realized that there is so much more I could be doing for myself to get back into better shape again. I checked into some of the gyms around Orem, and found out that Gold's has a membership plan which includes 1.5 hours of childcare per day... and their aerobics classes just happen to be during the time when Madi is in school. I really loved taking group fitness classes when I was in college, and even miss teaching sometimes. So I joined. And for the past week, I've been heading straight to the gym after dropping Madi off at class. I've done a couple of kickboxing classes (and found out the hard way that when you box using a bag, you should always wear gloves, and you should pick your bag partner wisely... skip the steroid-charged Rambo Woman who will kick your butt) and a step class. The teacher kindly warned me at the beginning of Step that it is a pretty fast-moving class. Yep, she was right. Made me feel like a total dork when I couldn't keep up with all the fast switches & combos. But I loved being back in the gym, doing what I loved doing in college. Fortunately, Tysen likes going to the Child Care... I hope that continues! And that I can keep my motivation to go during the cold winter months. Much easier than trying to run outside here at Aspen Grove, and definitely more fun that just running on a treadmill every day!
