Flying Solo

I'm officially on my own this week. Jim flew out to Florida this morning with a buddy from the Fire Dept to pick up a new fire truck & drive it back home. It'll take them until late Friday night to get back... possibly Saturday morning. I'm a little worried about him driving that much, because he has a tendency to fall asleep at the wheel, even just driving up the canyon. The hardest part (other than having him gone) is going to be in the mornings. I've been pretty good about getting up 3 days a week to run on the treadmill, despite my feet pain, to try and train for the 1/2 marathon I signed up for in June. So far, I'm only up to 3 miles and it takes me 40 minutes to get that in, but I'm hoping I will get faster if I keep doing it. It's a pain to run on the treadmill, though. I thought for sure we would have some better weather by now- it's almost April, and we are still getting snow. Like every day. I long for a good run in the outdoors!!! Back to my story. It'll be hard to try to get the kids up on my own, get them ready for school, and still get my runs in. We've been waking Madi up at 6:30am for the past month or so, to try to eliminate the staying up until 1-2am days. So far, it's been working pretty well, but it takes about 30 minutes to get her fully awake. That has been Jim's job, and he has been so wonderful at doing it, while I do my running. I'll have to figure something else out for this week.

You can do it!!!! I hope we get to see him on his way home! We'll send a few prayers his way too so he can be safe! We'll also send a couple your way. I hate to be on my own, especially when the routine involves Dave so much!
