Jim headed off to Zion National Park today to go dangle himself at the end of a rope in a slot canyon with a bunch of his Fire Dept. buddies. I guess he was just "at the end of his rope" here, so it was time to take a break, ha ha ha. It will be good for him to take a break, actually- he's been running himself ragged the past few weeks here.
I'm not used to being here at Aspen Grove without him, it feels really weird. So, what am I doing with my time? Let's see. Catching up on my blog posts, and surfing my favorite sewing blogs for inspiration. I could (and sometimes do) do that for hours, I just love seeing the creativity that is out there and frequently get some great ideas for the projects I am currently working on. Sewing can be so therapeutic for me.
The babies are sleeping and Aspen will be heading off to Age Groups in about 10 minutes. Then I suppose I will work on our outfits for the wedding in a few weeks (can't wait!!) and, then I will probably do some baking. It's been a while since I made some good ol' Dodds Family Chocolate Chip Cookies. Good thing Jim will be back tomorrow night to help me eat them! Anyone with a sweet tooth craving is invited to help out with the eating, by the way :)
Next post, maybe I'll put some pictures of the projects I've been working on lately.

Is Aspen getting married?
We are coming next month to the Grove. We are excited to see you guys!
Well, no. Not Aspen's wedding, although she did tell me a few days ago that she was wondering who she was going to marry. I told her I hope she finds someone wonderful like her Daddy... she decided she will marry her Daddy.
Aspen's Aunt Susan is getting married & we're excited! Sorry about the confusion there. Can't wait to see the Merrills next month!
