Welcome to the Dodds Family Taxi!

I got a call from the transportation office of the school district today. As it turns out, the Special Ed bus doesn't come up the canyon... it isn't equipped with the proper brakes and 4-wheel drive. Go figure. The regular bus comes up as far as Sundance, but they don't have carseats or helpers on the bus to help with kiddos like Madi, like the Special Ed bus does (they have an aide for each child on that bus- which is totally what Madi would need, and the carseat would be absolutely necessary). So, with Madi starting her Special Ed Preschool class at Northridge in Orem next week, I'll be driving her down and picking her up each time. She qualified to attend 4 days a week, but they put her in the afternoon session (yep- you guessed it- right in the middle of her naptime). So to ease her into the new routine, I'll be taking her just twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and slowly working it up to 4 days a week. It turns out, that since the bus doesn't come to our doorstep like they are supposed to, they will be reimbursing us for mileage to drive her to school. Helpful, but I was hoping it would work out with the bus, so that I don't have to be on the road as much with the kids. Thank goodness for our house in Orem! At least I have a place to crash while school is in session.

That is cute to think of Madi in pre-school.
