Prep for Halloween
This week I've been busy getting ready for Halloween. It's so fun to have cute little girls to dress up! Aspen decided she wanted to be a Fairy, and no amount of coaxing on Daddy's part was going to make her change her mind. He wanted her to be a pirate, fireman, or something else that wasn't "girly." I'm just happy she wants to be in the girly stage for a little while! So I pulled out my patterns and extra fabric and made her a little white fairy costume. I decided to splurge on the wings, though, and bought them. I also decided that I didn't have any costume patterns small enough for Madi, so I waited for a 60% off sale and bought a pumpkin costume for her. And, then at the last minute, I got sucked into one of JoAnn's sales, and decided to buy a pattern and some material to make a Rennaissance costume for myself. I tried to "save money" by buying less fabric, thinking I would only make the outer part of the dress- but, alas, I found out the hard way that the outer part of the costume was the only one- so I really was supposed to get 15 yards of fabric. (???????) I settled for only 8, and am having to get creative to make it work. The sleeves are really long and flowy, and go almost to the floor- and the entire thing is supposed to be lined- which is why the pattern required so much fabric. SO- you'll just have to wait until next week when I post pictures of our lovely Halloween Costumes! By the way, Jim is probably going to sling a rope over his shoulder and go as a canyoneering guide. Exciting, I know- maybe after seeing how much fun the girls and I are going to have dressing up, I'll be able to convince him to wear a costume next year.

I am glad you are so creative for halloween. I am hoping that I can squeeze DJ into last years costume. I figure being 9 months pregnant gives me a little bit of leeway! I can't wait to see the pics
Can't wait to see pictures! Good choice buying Aspen's fairy wings. I made some once and they were a disaster!
You are so good to make costumes. I did that for spencer's first costume (a frog). It turned out cute, but ended up being almost as expensive as buying one at the store - since i didn't have the fabric and stuff at home. I am looking forward to seeing the pics. Spencer is going to be Anakin Skywalker and Aubrey is going to be Belle.
Don't count on it.
Jim
Don't count on what, dearest?
