Mother's Day Cards & Surprises

I had a wonderful Mother's Day this year. We were able to celebrate it in Idaho, combined with Grandma Dodds' 90th Birthday Celebration.

At church, the kids made adorable cards for me. One from Tysen was a fill-in-the-blank type card, and it was so cute! This is what it said:

"My Mom is: as old as Jesus years old."
"She likes to: sewing."
"The best thing she cooks is: Cookies."
"Her favorite food is: soup."
"Her favorite thing to do when she relaxes is: stay home & read the big stories."
"We like to: read little stories together."
"I love her because: she needs to save me."
"As you can see, my Mom is very special to me!"

And this was the letter Aspen wrote to me at school. I have to admit, my favorite gifts from my kids are always the letters they write to me.

I felt very loved this Mother's Day! I love good surprises, and Jim surprised me on Saturday with some chocolate-covered strawberries. He had no idea how much I had been drooling over those every time I saw them in stores last week. And when we got back from Idaho, there was another surprise waiting for me on the table. It was a new Belgian Waffle maker- one that makes two waffles at a time. We LOVE hot breakfasts at our house, and we have waffles or pancakes almost every morning. We have gone through two Belgian waffle makers lately and haven't been able to find a good replacement one until now. I'm very excited to try it out! My husband is such a wonderful guy!
