Birthdays and Bonks

It was a few weeks ago, but Aspen had her 6th Birthday. We celebrated at the house in Orem with a Birthday Party. She invited 2 friends from school who came and played some games and had cake and ice cream. This is the cake Aspen requested:

Pretty easy to do, really- just half a batch of cupcakes and the other half baked in a round pan. Then, we went out to eat at Malawi's Pizza (very yummy!) and then headed over to the Provo Beach Resort that is now open in the River Woods shopping center. It was so much fun! We could have just spent the whole day over there- they have something for everyone in there. Of course, Aspen's favorites were the carousel, and the giant kid's play area. It was a great way to celebrate a winter Birthday!

So, lately Ty thinks it's pretty cool that he can climb onto pretty much anything he wants to. Including the ladder that goes up to Aspen's bed. One day he decided to climb it when she was in the room... he got up the first rung, and she "helped" him back down. Somewhere in that process, he slipped and his head hit the ladder. Here's what he has to show from it:

Talk about goose egg!! But he didn't let that keep him down...

In the end, he won!

Oh- and, the next day, he fell down the stairs that go down to the front door. At least those are padded with carpet. Because just a couple of days ago, he took a tumble down the hard wood spiral staircase. That one was much less forgiving, and he still has a black eye from it. I just got tired of taking pictures of all the bonks, as I am sure there are many more to come!
