We went to Robert's Crafts today because there was a special appearance by Santa- and Mrs. Clause! It was so much fun... we walked into the store and there they were, we didn't even have to wait in line. I tried to get a good photo- I have to admit, Madi's smile is priceless! Tysen isn't too sure what to think, and Aspen- well, she does look a little mischevious, doesn't she? Mr. & Mrs. Clause fit the part to a tee, and I loved not having to wait in line!

Before heading downtown, we decided it was time to set up the tree. We put it off as long as Aspen would allow, knowing that a 7-foot tree in our house would certainly limit our sitting space. Anyone who comes to visit will now have to sit on the couch in the entryway hall & stare at the bookcase.

Aspen was a really big helper! So was Tysen... he shook the tree to make sure we had set it up sturdy enough to not tip over. We now have a gate around it to prevent further testing.

On Thursday, we went to Aspen's Dance Recital. She has been attending a ballet/jazz class at the Orem Recreation & Fitness Center these past 3 months. She really enjoyed being around the other kids, and didn't do too bad, but I could tell that the dance was choreographed above the level of the girls. It would have been better suited for an intermediate class, not just a beginning class. But she had a good time. I think we are going to switch back to gymnastics next semester. Doesn't she look so cute in her outfit? Yes, I did make it... white leotards are really hard to find. And it actually turned out better than I thought it would! Even with only a week to put it together. I found the white fabric in the remnant section at JoAnn's so it only cost me a couple of dollars, since everything else I used was from my fabric stash at home.
We now have all our Christmas decorations hung up! I bought a wreath to hang on our front door, and some garland to go on the banister inside ($4 each from Roberts- score again!). It's something I've wanted to do every year, and finally just did it. It looks very festive around here, and since most of my Christmas shopping is finished, I think we're finally ready for Christmas!
