In the works

I was reviewing my To-Do list that I set back at the beginning of summertime. It was a list of about 10 things I wanted to get done this summer. So far I have made it to about #2 1/2. But- even though my To-Do list has not shrunk any, my Projects List has definitely grown. I went to the Quilt Fair that my local Quilt Guild puts on ever summer this week, and of course I came away with some fresh, new & fun fabric. Now, the fun part- start more projects!!! I'm VERY good at starting projects. Finishing them is another story. The creative side of my brain just works better if I can rotate between projects & have about a dozen going at once. I guess it stifles the boredom for me. That, and the fact that 100% of the time, I will be interrupted by little ones needing my attention before a project is finished. And that is fine- it gives the creative side of me a chance to catch up, and my projects will usually turn out better than anticipated.

So what have I added to the Project List? A VERY cute baby quilt and a Jelly Roll Quilt-Along (it's where you make a different quilt block every month, or every 2 weeks in this case, and at the end of it you have 12 blocks made from the same fabric line but different patterns. Then you put them all together with some borders and you have a quilt top!) Stay tuned for pictures, coming later, once I actually start these projects. I also intend to finish off my Double Wedding Ring quilt top soon. I did get one project finished- wedding reception skirts and ties for the family. Can't wait for the wedding next weekend!! I'm still planning on making some flower embellishments for our shirts to go with these cute skirts:

And, here is the Double Wedding Ring quilt top I've been working on for a few months:

The unfinished Double Wedding Ring Quilt Top. I finished all of the fun parts... the little arcs that make the circles. Now, for the hard part. Putting it all together and making all the border circles line up perfectly. That's the part I am dreading, which is why it now sits in pieces on the treadmill, which also is being neglected lately. Oh well!

the skirts are adorable! Good job (that seems kinda lame to say now that I'm writing that... but really I could never make anything like those) Your wedding ring quilt is beautiful too. You had better post pics of your jelly roll quilt, sounds interesting!
