Amish Friendship Bread anyone?

I received a starter of Amish Friendship Bread a week and a half ago. If any of you have received one of those before, you'll know what I'm talking about here... anyways, you keep the dough in a ziplock baggie on your counter for 10 days. Then you add a bunch of ingredients to the bag, divide some of it into 4 other bags to give away, and bake the rest of it. The problem was, I didn't have one of the ingredients- vanilla pudding. So I decided to try a substitute- cornstarch, sugar, and extra vanilla extract. To be honest, I didn't have very high hopes for this combination, but thought, what the hey- I'll just keep one of the starters and try again if it doesn't turn out. So I baked it, and as it turns out, my substitution worked pretty well! It tastes kind of like a very sweet cinnamon-cake bread. I don't know how it is supposed to turn out, but apparently if you add enough sugar and cinnamon, it'll taste good in the end!
